The BGA Close Protection Course
BGA offers a comprehensive Close Protection course that equips students with the theory and practical knowledge needed to start a career in this dynamic and fast-growing industry. The course is run on a full-time basis over a 26 day period. Courses can be tailored to specific needs.
During the course you will spend time in the classroom, on the shooting range, on the road and out on the street. We teach Protectors to work and handle stressful situations and train them on the modules necessary to do their job effectively. The modules include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Providing static protection to designated persons
  • Providing close protection to persons whilst in transit
  • Providing protection whilst embussing or debussing
  • Providing pedestrian escorts to designated persons
  • Handle and use a handgun
  • Use of a handgun for business purposes
  • Apply tactical knowledge in the use of a firearm
  • Advanced driving
  • Requirements for becoming a security service provider
  • Basic first aid treatment
  • Demonstrate knowledge of firearms
